Free Easter Sight Word Game (34 Fry Words)
This free Easter sight word game is perfect for emergent readers.
As a homeschool mom, I love creating new activities and crafts for my kids to learn their course material in fun and exciting ways. That’s why I made this Easter sight word game to play at home or in the classroom!
Easter is quickly approaching and I am planning ahead by creating lots of fun printables to do at home with my five year old. (If you haven’t already, grab our free Easter word search, too!)
My son has been working hard on his reading skills this year and flourishing with our language arts curriculum by The Good and the Beautiful. I love being able to find Teachers Pay Teachers hands-on activities to do with him at home to supplement his school work.
I also love to create my own games, worksheets, and printables for my kids to enjoy. It’s sometimes easier to create these on my own because I know exactly what my kids are learning and what is a good idea for them to practice – through play!

What age is the printable Easter Sight Word game appropriate for?
This sight word game is perfect for kids and students ages 4-7! My son is currently learning Kindergarten-level material, and the words used in this game are from the first 100 Fry words.
However, if you have a younger student (Pre-K) or older student (1st grade + ) who is working on their reading skills, it can also be appropriate for their age group, as well.
Why we love to play educational games
My son loves to play sight word games and we believe it’s important to teach through play! Did you know that kids learn best through play?
When kids and students are engaged and interested in learning something, they are more likely to retain the knowledge that they learn. I love Pre-K and elementary school age because it’s so easy to incorporate fun learning games and activities that kids will enjoy and learn from!
Instructions for using the free Easter sight word game for kids
This printable Easter sight word game is super easy to play. Start by grabbing the free file down below and printing it out at home. Make sure to print using landscape orientation!
I recommend printing it out on white cardstock so that it is more durable and lasts longer. You could also print it out on regular computer paper and then laminate the game.
You will need some extra materials in order to play the game. Luckily, they are easily found at home! Grab a dice from another board game and some player pieces.
If you don’t have extra player pieces, you can substitute with some cute erasers, mini-figures, or other manipulatives. I typically use the player pieces from another game, but you can also find cute seasonal erasers and manipulatives at your local dollar store or the dollar spot in Target.
Rules for playing the Easter sight word game for kids
Each player will roll the dice. Whoever gets the highest number on their roll will go first. The second highest number will go second, and so forth.
On your turn, you roll the dice and then move forward the number of spaces that correlate with the number on the dice. When you land on a word, you must read the word.
If you land on a pink bow, then you get to skip ahead. Whoever reaches the finish line first, wins!
